Issue #4: Love

As a food and culture publication it was inevitable that we’d land on the theme of love. Often named the secret ingredient in a home-cooked batch of something heartfelt, love is the main course in our fourth issue. We explore preparing food as the unofficial 6th love language; whether cooking recession lentils for a lover, or serving 85 000 on Eid.

Love is a chicken sandwich at Wimpy in Chatsworth, and teatime in a kitchen full of Indian aunties in Verulam. Singles eat black noodles in South Korea and a couple embrace ice cream obsession at the Ben & Jerry’s factory in Vermont. Wisdom is found in wedding cake, hearts are on the menu and food nicknames are on the brain, my little green bean. And if that’s all too rich, try the recipe for self-love.
